The short version

avstat does not collect, store or transmit any data. It makes no network calls at all. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporter, and no server anywhere in the picture.

No permission prompts, by design

Sampling is prompt-free by design. avstat reads CPU, memory, swap, disk and network load through public system counters (sysinfo), thermal state through NSProcessInfo, power draw through IOKit's power source APIs, and GPU load through IOAccelerator's performance statistics — none of these require macOS to show you a permission dialog, and avstat never asks for one.

What is read, and where it stays

Only aggregate system load figures are read — percentages and rates, never file names, window titles, keystrokes or network contents. Nothing is written anywhere but avstat's own config and state files under ~/Library/Application Support/avstat. Installing the screensaver copies one .saver bundle to ~/Library/Screen Savers when you click Install — that is a file copy, not data collection.

Sound

Every sound is synthesised on your machine from the load figures above. Nothing is downloaded, streamed or recorded from anyone.

Payments

If you purchase Pro or Studio, our merchant of record processes the transaction and receives your billing details directly, under their own privacy policy. We receive only your email address and order reference, used to issue your licence and provide support. Licence verification itself happens entirely offline, on your machine, against a public key built into the app — no licence check ever calls out to a server.

Children

avstat is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
